Thanks to the many volunteers and sponsors that made RiverSweep 2017 a great event.

This year, 750 volunteers pulled 37 tons of trash and another 319 tires.

RiverSweep is a long-running program, and over the course of 28 years we are seeing major progress- though sites such as West 14th and Train Ave. still attract large amounts of illegal dumping.
Canalway Partners incorporated graffiti cleanup into RiverSweep a few years ago. Sites that were cleaned this year include the Flats, the Towpath Trail tunnels at Steelyard Commons, the Abbey Avenue Bridge in Tremont and the Lorain-Carnegie overpass on Columbus Road.

Civic organizations play a key role in RiverSweep, contributing resources, coordinating clean sites and volunteers. These include: Cleveland Metroparks, City of Cleveland, City of Garfield Heights, Cleveland City Council, Slavic Village Development, Tremont West Development Corp., MetroWest, Flats Forward, Historic Warehouse District, Harvard Community Services Center, West Creek Conservancy, HandsOn Northeast Ohio and Big Creek Connects.
