Canalway Partners Announces New Director of Communications

Meghan Tinker Paynter joins team to lead marketing initiatives and event promotion

Canalway Partners is pleased to announce Meghan Tinker Paynter has joined the team as Director of Communications, effective January 3, 2022. Paynter will implement all marketing initiatives for the cultural heritage organization including event promotion and civic engagement.

Paynter joins Canalway Partners with a decade of diverse marketing communications, public relations and social media experience at a management level, most recently serving as communications and social media manager at a Cleveland-based private company. 

Prior to that, Paynter served as communications manager at Downtown Cleveland Alliance for three years where she executed all external communications. She was directly involved in the communication plan for the construction of Public Square and public relations initiatives leading up to the 2016 Republican National Convention. Additionally, Paynter assisted in the marketing, communications and media relations for many annual events.

A writer from the start, Paynter earned a degree in Journalism from Ohio University before moving to Cleveland to start her career in communications. Paynter enjoys reading and exploring National Parks with her husband. She is active in the Cleveland community as a board member for Lakewood’s Friends of Madison Park, a member of the Junior League of Cleveland and a committee member and volunteer for Fight For Air Climb Cleveland.
