On July 22nd 2015, (Cleveland’s 219th birthday) The Port Authority and Kurtz Brothers unveiled the State’s first passive sediment collector on the Cuyahoga River.

Ohio’s First Passive Sediment Collector

The collection of sediment will reduce the amount that needs to be dredged from the shipping channel and will provide clean fill for projects by organizations such as the Cuyahoga Land Bank and the Cleveland Botanical Garden.

The sediment collector is an innovative solution that helps to create a cleaner Cuyahoga River.
