Thanks for a Great RiverSweep

Thanks to the many volunteers and sponsors that made RiverSweep 2016 a great event.

RiverSweep, now in its 27th year, featured 950 volunteers who cleaned 80 tons of trash (including 475 tires), painted graffiti and pulled invasive species from sites across the Cuyahoga River valley including:

  • Canal Basin Park
  • The Flats East
  • The Flats West
  • Rivergate Park
  • Morgana Run Trail
  • Train Avenue
  • Tremont
  • West Creek
  • Big Creek/Lower Harvard
  • Mill Creek
  • Johnston Mill Run

Over the years, RiverSweep has paved the way for several urban parks and trails including Scranton Flats. 2016 was the last time we cleaned sections of Tremont before Stage 3 of the Towpath Trail begins construction later this year.
