Stage 3 Awarded Clean Ohio Trails Funding

The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works has been awarded a $432,222 grant for Stage 3 of the Towpath Trail from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

The funds were part of $6.1 million in grants awarded to 19 projects around the state through the Clean Ohio Trails Fund.The Clean Ohio Trails Fund improves outdoor recreation opportunities for Ohioans, it is one of four components of the Clean Ohio Fund which was created in 2000 to restore, protect and connect Ohio’s natural and urban places.

Stage 3 of the Towpath Trail Extension will run from the Northern entrance of Steelyard Commons to Literary Ave. This stage will provide an important link between the Cleveland neighborhood Tremont, the employment and retail center Steelyard Commons and the public outdoor recreation area Clark Fields.

The Clean Ohio Trails Fund dollars will specifically be applied to a 150-foot bridge crossing West 7th Street.
