A Bike Ride for the Whole Family

Cycle Canalway riders receive a souvenir t-shirt, a goody bag,  a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and  snacks and refreshments at Station Rd.  Registration includes  lunch,  entertainment and prize raffle at Lockkeepers.

All proceeds from Cycle Canalway help Canalway Partners preserve, promote and educate the public about the area surrounding one of Northeast Ohio’s most valuable resources – our park system along the Ohio & Erie Canal.

Riders will take the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to the stop of their choice (our last train stop will be Peninsula) and bike along the beautiful Towpath Trail, finishing at Lockkeepers for lunch and entertainment from 11:45 to 1:15PM.

 

 

The ride will start at Rockside Rd. Train Depot, 7900 Old Rockside Rd. Independence 44131 at 8:00 AM (get directions).
Riders will load their bikes onto the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad at 8:30 AM. The train will depart at 9 AM.

Choose the distance that is best for you, from 3 to 22 miles

Train Stop

Canal Exploration Center (2.2 miles with train ride; 4.4 miles without train)
Route 82 (6.5 miles with train ride; 13 miles without)
Boston Store (11 miles with train ride; 22 miles without)
Peninsula (13 miles with train ride; 26 miles without train)

For those wanting to ride further their distance by 8.2 miles continue North on the Towpath Trail to loop below Canalway Visitor Center in the Cleveland Metroparks and return to Lockkeepers

For those wanting to ride further their distance by 12  miles continue North on the Towpath Trail to Harvard Ave/Towpath Trailhead and  return to Lockkeepers
